PPW 2016 dealt with the partial preterist position of “Amillennialism.” Five different speakers, all formerly Amillennialists, shared their journey away from this futurist doctrine and into the truth of Covenant Eschatology. They shared what they discovered and what convinced them of the fact that their theological and church traditions were not biblical. Speakers included: William Bell, Rod MacArthur, Larry Siegle, Dallas Burdette, and Don Preston.
The conference also featured a lively and engaging debate between Dr. Preston and Dr. David Hester, professor of Bible at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama. The propositions for the debate were as follows:
Preston Affirms – Resolved: “The Bible teaches that the Second (final) coming of Christ and the attendant resurrection of the just and the unjust, occurred at the end of the fall of Jerusalem in AD70.”
Hester Affirms – Resolved: “The Bible teaches that the Second (final) coming of Christ and the attendant resurrection of the just and the unjust, is yet future, and will occur at the end of time.”
